How to get to the Conference Venue from the Airport: 

On arrival at Barcelona’s Josep Tarradelles - El Prat Airport, you have the following options to get to the Conference Venue: 

  • By metro: The line L9 Sud Metro connects Barcelona downtown with the airport (T1 and T2 terminals). Take the metro and get off at Torrassa station, then take the L1 (red) until Marina station. Length of the trip: 1 hour approx. 
  • By bus: Take the Aerobus in front of your arrival terminal (T1 or T2 terminals) and get off at Plaça Catalunya (Barcelona). The trip takes approximately 30 minutes, and buses run every 15 minutes from 6:00a.m. to 12:30a.m. Tickets can be purchased on the bus. If you take the Aerobus back to the airport, remember to check that you are taking the bus corresponding to your departing terminal. Walk 5 mins to Urquinaona station. Once you are in the Urquinaona station, take the metro (L4) to Ciutadella Vila Olímpica station. Length of the trip: 1 hour approx. 
  • By train: The train service actually operates from T2 terminal at the Renfe (Cercanías/Rodalies) suburban train station. If you come from T1 there is a shuttle bus service departing in accordance with train arrival times and linking the two terminals every 6 or 7 minutes, the journey lasts approximately 10 minutes. Once you are in the airport train station, take the train from the airport and get off at Passeig de Gràcia (Barcelona). The trip takes approximately 30 minutes (airport to Passeig de Gràcia station), and trains run every 30 minutes from 6:08 a.m. to 23:08 p.m. From there Passeig de Gràcia railway station, you have to take the metro (L4) to Ciutadella Vila Olímpica station. Length of the trip: 1 hour approx. 
  • By taxi: Taxis in Barcelona are black and yellow. They may be ordered by phone, found at authorised taxi stands or flagged down in the street. Please always check that the meter is running. Taxis usually accept cash and card, but you can check with the driver before getting in the cab. Rates vary depending on the time of the day (T1 rate for night­time and weekend/public holidays, and T2 rate for day­time journeys). Length of the trip: 30 minutes approx.
  • Additional charges are applied for airport services. 

Moving around the city:

In Barcelona, the weather is pleasant for most of the year and in November temperature fluctuates around 15/21ºC which makes it great to explore it out walking. 

Otherwise, the Metro is also a good option to move around in the city. The widespread availability of metro stations allows you to cover the entire city using this means of transport. Public transport tickets can be used both for bus, metro or tram, within a period of 1 hour and 15 minutes. A single ticket is 2.55€, a 10 trips ticket (t-casual) is 12.15€, two days ticket (Hola Barcelona Travel Card) is 17.50€, three days ticket is 25.50€, four days ticket is 33.30€ and a five days ticket is 40.80€, you can buy the tickets at the metro stations machines or at the tourist offices located in the city centre.
